Rathbone Street Lofts, London.

This is a refurbishment and extension of the existing 1920’s police station in Rathbone Street, London to create commercial offices on the ground floor and high-end apartments on the upper floors.

The work included building a new façade to line through with the adjacent buildings enabling the floors to be extended (the original façade was approximately 1m back from this line), adjustments to the existing wall layouts to the rear of the property and a duplex penthouse roof extension.

We carried out all of the structural engineering working closely with C2 Architects designing new steel transfer structures where load-bearing walls had been removed, carrying out design checks on the original structure and providing strengthening details where required.
