Cork Bus Station, Ireland.

The project is a new bus station canopy roof situated in Cork town centre.

We worked with Downer International to develop a workable structural concept for the canopy that would closely match the aspirations of the original architectural design.

The structure comprises a number of curved prismatic roof trusses supported on a braced column structure. The membrane is PTFE coated glass fibre spanning between the trusses in a saddle form.

The canopy covers an area of approximately 800m2 and provides an elegant addition to the river frontage.
