Brunel University, UK.

Brunel University has a long sporting tradition and has recently invested £13 million upgrading their sports facilities, which include an indoor athletics track and netball arena. These buildings are both formed from a series of 7.5m high arches sitting on 3m curved legs.

We worked with the specialist steel fabricator developing the connection design for the steel structure including the in-line splices within the arches, semi-pinned eaves connections and the gable framework.

The resulting structure maintains the aesthetic and functional requirements of the architect's original concept, whilst maintaining the fabrication and construction requirements of the fabricator.
